Since Christi is on retreat, I told her I would post this for her... Enjoy!
Today is my sister's 40th birthday...not a sister by birth but a sister by God's grace...and I am forever grateful for having her in my life. I have learned so much from her and with her.
It makes me smile to look back over the years and think of all the babies, birthday parties, and milestones we have celebrated together. So in honor of a blessed 40 years! Here's what makes me smile about Mary...
* She is a true Renaissance Woman
* She can do anything she puts her mind to, really...anything!
* Like knitting about two dozen scarves for everyone she loves.
* Or crocheting the most beatiful baby blankets (in like a day!)
* Or making beautiful little purses out of placemats for her adoring nieces!
* She never sits still, she always has to be doing something (I think she gets this from her mom :o)
* She has ten children, whom she would do anything for... and they know it!
* She looks like a rock star!
* In fact she just ran a 10k to benefit an ill member of her church!
* She would chop off her right arm if someone needed it.
* She is truly the most generous person I know.
* She always tries to find something nice to say about everyone.
* She sincerely lives my mother's motto, "If you don't have something nice to say...don't say anything at all"
* She has the best parties! Just ask my kids.
* She goes all out ... no skimping over there
* She tries to have something for everyone. Why? Because she wants everyone to feel special! That's the kind of person she is...
* She is a wonderful aunt
* The kids know on their birthday they will be seeing her smiling face at some point, and it is a highlight for each of them!
* She is the best "gift-receiver"
* Give her a gift...and her smile will make you think you've given her the moon!
* She is a really good writer ... I never knew that til I started reading her blog :o)
* I really do love you Mary, and I pray God blesses each moment of Your Special Day!
