Happy 13th Birthday Cayla!

Well, it's finally here...we officially have a teenager in the house! The first of many to come and I can only pray they will turn out as lovely as our first!

This time thirteen years ago her Daddy and I were pacing around our apartment packing our things for the hospital, excited to meet our first child. She came into the world at 10:54pm. The love we felt at seeing our beautiful daughter was indescribable...and it has only grown over the years.

I am so proud of the young lady she is growing up to be and every time I think of her I get a smile on my face. So in honor of her thirteen years. Here are some things about Cayla that make me smile...

*She is incredibly generous...with everything...time, talents, material stuff.

*She plays with her little sisters, not because she has to but because she wants to , really! I am certain these memories will be burned into the hearts and minds of all my daughters, and I am so grateful for such a fun, and loving "oldest sister".

*She loves fairies, butterflies, and all things magical...I suspect she loves having little sisters as much as they love having her :o).

*She is a budding artist, and has been drawing and painting since she could hold a pencil.

*She is shy outside the home, but the life of the party around here.

*She is the official game organizer...she will get all of her siblings playing something together. Pirates, Narnia, Nancy Drew, etc...

*You'd never know it but she loves a good practical joke and is quite the prankster.

*She is super competative at games, sports, etc..(but she'll never admit it)..hmm wonder where she gets that from? :o).

*Her favorite foods are cotton candy, asian pears, Lime tortilla chips, and gum (ok not a food, but still a fave!).

*She loves to dance and makes up dances with Natalie.

*She will be confirmed this year, and her faith inspires me every day.

*She cannot go to bed if we've had an argument without saying "sorry" to me first...she is such a sweet, sensitive soul

*She is truly the kind of person that tries to make life easier for those around her. (When I asked her what she wanted for dinner tonight, since it is her birthday...she said, "whatever is easiest for you Mom?" and sensing that what was "easiest for me" was not having to decide....she chose loaded baked potatoes :o) )

I can only hope, I "grow up" to be as sweet and generous as this daughter of mine. Your Dad and I love you so much Cayla, God Bless you on your birthday and always!

Dear Cayla,
You are such a beautiful soul and young lady. I have always admired your silent strength and always being there for everyone in your family; your dad and mom and all your siblings. They truely do look up to your natural leadership qualities. I love that you enjoy a good thought out "mystery". (Nancy Drew style) and you take the time to see everything around you.
Even at a distance, I have enjoyed watching you grow.

Love Aunt June
