How Do We Know It Really Happened?

There are those who question whether Jesus really rose from the dead. After all, it is a very bold claim. He is the only man that ever raised Himself from the dead. Think about that... not dead for minutes or hours, but for days. He died on Friday, stayed dead on Saturday, and His dead body rose on the third day... Easter Sunday! That's nuts! if you don't believe. ;-) I could understand why people don't believe it. But, how could billions of people to this very day believe something that is not natural? Because it's above nature... it's SUPER NATURAL!!! Either it really happened or it was a hoax... a lie.

Sacred scripture even says that the Jews tried to get witnesses (e.g., the guards) to say the Jesus' body had been stolen. First, how did they get His body past the guards that were specifically stationed at the tomb to make sure nobody stole His body? Second, it would take a few people to move the huge stone and carry the body... even if the guards were asleep, don't you think they would've heard something? Third, why did they leave the cloth that the body was wrapped in (i.e., the Shroud of Turin)? Why not leave the body wrapped? Fourth, why would they take the time to fold the cloth? Don't you think they would been in a hurry for fear of getting caught? Fifth, since it is a crime to steal a dead body, obviously there was an investigation. They tried to find somebody that would testify that the whole Resurrection was a hoax. As a matter of fact, they tortured and killed early Christians who wouldn't say that it was a hoax. Why would so many people allow themselves to be tortured and be crucified (like Jesus)? Would people die for something that they knew is a lie?

Many documented eyewitnesses not only said that they saw Jesus after He was crucified and had been dead for days, but they actually sat, ate, and talked with Him. Was it a ghost or His spirit? Last time I checked ghosts don't eat... they're dead and they don't have a body. Jesus not only ate with them, but allowed them to touch Him... put their fingers in His wounds.

I can see why this story continues to live on for over two-thousand years.
