Sophia turns five tomorrow! Well, actually she thinks she is five already since we had her party last Saturday, but her "real birthday" is August 20, 2003 at 11ish in the morning. It is hard to believe it has been five years since this little lady blessed our family. Her entry into this world is still so fresh in my mind. For those of you who knew me then and those who didn't , I'll spare you the vivid details. Suffice it to say, it was a frightening and yet grace-filled emergency c-section with an absolutely beautiful ending...our Sophia. I am still so grateful for the skilled hands of our doctor, his grace under pressure, and God's overwhelming mercy toward our family.
Sophia's name means wisdom, and she is definitely full of her own little tidbits of wisdom, which she offers daily to anyone who will listen.
Sophia walked/ran at nine months old, and has been non-stop ever since.
Sophia is all girl...she loves, dolls, fairies, doing "hair", playing house, and school, and princess with her brothers and sisters.
Her favorite color is green, because Tinkerbell has a green dress, of course.
Her current favorite songs are the theme songs from Enchanted and "You've had a bad day" sung by the chipmunks. And she belts them out whenever the mood hits her.
She is fairly shy around other people, but very talkative at home.
She is deathly afraid of storms and waters the grass and weeds, "just so God won't have to".
She is learning to spell, and makes you spell any new word she hears you say.
She is "too big and tall" to nap anymore.
She sleeps with Felicity, but says they are "too tiny to sleep without their big sisters"
Sophia and Felicity are the best of friends and people call them "Snow White and Rose Red" (it warms my heart to see them together and reminds me of me and my little sister)
One of her favorite lines is , "don't panic Mom"
**Sophia, you are growing into a beautiful little lady, and are such a big help around here, you make us laugh...We all love you sooo much! Happy Birthday little girl!

I whispered in her ear before I left for work this morning... "Are you my little princess?" She replied, "Yes. Now throw me up in the sky!" Before I even picked her up she yelled, "one more time!" Then Felicity yelled, "Me next, daddy! Me next!"
Happy 5th Birthday, Sophia!
